Summer :: Girls Art Weekend

Mom's friend, Nancy, invited us to come to Glide for a weekend of crafting - we had so much fun!  She has this great house!

With Wild Turkeys
And sunshine :)

We arrived to a table full of goodies and gifts.  Such sweet ladies - SO generous!!

Let the ART begin....
Our first project was hosted by Pippa - we made a beaded broach
(SIDENOTE:  Pippa visited from the UK!  She was so much fun and I loved her accent! :]  )
Next project was a water color resist - so fun!

Once your resist dried, you painted over it, then you peel it off.  Pretty cool!

All the white lines are where the resist was
Here are all the finished products - lovely!

Water color book marks from Diana
Jan led our next activity...collage soul cards
Soul Collage Cards - Mine is the one with the cute little African boy - Makes me want to go to AFRICA!!!  <3
Pippa has a soft spot for ANY man in ANY kind of uniform  :)  Too funny!!  The girls made her this collage of eye candy
Next activity was hosted by Diane.  Collage Journal Pages...
Mom's finished collage

Nancy's collage page

My dancing fiesta journal page - not finished - I added in song lyrics:
"You make beautiful things,
You make beautiful things out of dust.
You make beautiful things,
You make beautiful things out of US."
Barbara hosted out next project.  We made a "Book in a Box."  Barbara is a teacher and shared LOTS of ideas and materials with me for my 6th graders.

Book in a box :)

Pippa introduced us to the international sign for "I need a refill!"  :)

This little guy just about gave me a heart attack!  :)

We met alot of new friends, too!

We had a wonderful weekend full of laughter and creativity.  Thanks, Nancy!!!

Happy Summer!
